about Us

Allison Johnston, lpc, ncc, PMH-C

Hi! I am Allison Johnston. As both a therapist and someone who has gone to therapy myself at various points in my life, I understand that the relationship between a client and therapist is one of the most important aspects in the counseling process. That’s why it’s my goal to provide an open, safe environment for you to freely talk about your thoughts, feelings, struggles, and goals.

I utilize a multi-intervention approach, including EMDR, which allows me to meet my client’s where they are at in their journey. This allows me to help target the thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve you. This helps client’s grow into their true, authentic selves and improve their everyday life.

I have been working as a counselor for almost 10 years. My experience includes working with both teens and adults, that are experiencing anxiety, ADHD, and stress associated with everyday life. I also work with women, tackling the particular struggles and issues they face in life. I recently completed specialized training to better serve those experiencing postpartum depression, anxiety and other perinatal mood disorders.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Michigan and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. I recently obtained my Perinatal Mental Health - Certification (PMH-C). I am a member of the Michigan Counseling Association, American Counseling Association, and Postpartum Support International.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, including my three kids. You can find me cheering on my son at his baseball games, volunteering for my daughter’s soccer team and league, or volunteering for my youngest daughter’s cheerleading team. I also enjoy reading, Hallmark movies, and am training for a marathon in November.
