Allison Johnston, lpc, ncc

Allison Johnston is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Michigan. She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. She is currently working towards her Perinatal Mental Health - Certification (PMH-C). She is a member of the Michigan Counseling Association, American Counseling Association, and Postpartum Support International.

Allison understands that the relationship between a client and therapist is one of the most important aspects in the counseling process. She provides an open, safe environment for client’s to freely talk about their thoughts, feelings, struggles, and goals.

Allison utilizes a multi-intervention approach, including uses EMDR, that allows her to meet client’s where they are at. This allows her to help target thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve the client. This helps client’s grow into their true, authentic selves and helps improve their everyday life.

Allison has been working as a counselor for almost 10 years. Her experience includes working with both teens and adults, that are experiencing anxiety, ADHD, and stress associated with everyday life.

She recently joined Postpartum Support International and is in the process of obtaining her Perinatal Mental Health certification to better assist her client’s struggling with postpartum depression, anxiety and other perinatal mood disorders.

When she isn’t working, Allison enjoys spending time with her family, including cheering on her son at his baseball games, volunteering for her daughter’s soccer team and her other daughter’s cheerleading team, reading, and training for a half marathon.
