My name is Allison Johnston and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Michigan. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. I utilize EMDR and recently obtained my Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C).

I have been working as a counselor for almost 10 years, working with teens and adults needing help dealing with their ADHD, anxiety, life stressors or chronic illness, specifically dysautonomia (POTS, etc) and narcolepsy/hypersomnia.

After experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety, I found a passion to help those struggling with this as well. I obtained my PMH-C to advance my skills in helping those on the journey to motherhood, no matter what point you are at.

I know the most important part of the therapy process is the therapeutic relationship. I strive to provide my client’s a safe place, where you feel comfortable to be your true authentic self, to discuss worries, hardships, and goals without fear of judgment.

When I am not working, you will find me spending my time with my family, including volunteering as a coach for my children’s’ sports teams, reading, and running.
